I’m Ezra Arndt (they/them/theirs), a part-time author and a full-time vampire (enthusiast) currently dwelling in Chicago, IL, USA. When not writing or cuddling my cat, Freya, I can be found reading, drinking obscene amounts of caffeine, and drawing my stories’ characters with the end goal of teaching myself how to draw smut.

I write dark and Gothic fiction for those who like their characters messy, their relationships toxic and taboo, and endings (usually) bittersweet. My main writing obsession is my work-in-progress, the Lost Gods series. Lost Gods is a dark fantasy about finding comfort in the wrong places and people, and how love, no matter good intentioned, can turn anyone into a monster. Currently, I’m neck-deep in rewriting the first book (it was previously published but I ended up not satisfied with the end story so back to the drawing board I went), and really, really enjoying it.

When I’m not sequestered in my apartment, recovering from my day job’s work week, I might be able to be spotted far from home roaming the streets of northern Chicago where my favorite bookstores and stationary shop are (shout-out to Pencil & Paper for being such a soothing place to vibe in). Or I could be seen huddling even further abroad in a cafe in Wales, United Kingdom, tip-tapping away at my laptop’s keyboard while visiting my partner. If I’m overseas and feeling very adventurous, I might even scale a castle, one wobbly step with my cane at a time. But usually, I am most reliably found online on my Instagram and Bluesky (if I think you’re cool and we’re close, I might even give you my Discord and Whatsapp usernames).
